Pulling it together

I have really learned a lot about the things you can do on the internet. I have always known there is A LOT if information on the web, but was never sure where to look for it. I feel like I have a better handle on where to look for things. I think my favorite thing I have learned in this class is www.classroom20.com. It has been a great place to get feedback from other teachers. I ask for feedback from my teachers, but it's different because they have a little bias on our curriculum because it might have been something they have pushed to implement.

I also like google reader. I have not really used it but I can see how it would be useful, seeing if new information has been posted before going and looking for it. I can also see how it would be great to share with other people, colleagues and such, then you don't have to send links. I know it would have been nice to have that before I left my last school, because I would not have lost the things I had on their file server. I haven't been actually using my gmail account because I am just not familiar with it yet and Ihave emailed everyone to say I have a new email address. I have heard a lot of good things about gmail though so hopefully sometime I will do that.

This is also true with the wiki. It would have been great to put my ideas on a wiki and I could add to them and change them throughout the years. The one thing I worry about (which was brought to my attention in many of these sites) is that what is the wiki I started, if the website stopped? I am not sure if that would happen, but if it would go away if it wasn't used in so long...

I also have liked diigo, but it frustrates me because I cannot use it at my school. So I still have to email sites to myself. I can use classroom2.0 at school, so that is good. I am hoping I can use the google reader at school too.

I also enjoyed creating the story in web 2.0. I am not sure how I would use it in my classroom, but I know my students would love to play around with it. It would be a fun way for them to take about history or show what they know in it. It would be a different way to assess what they have learned.
